Bobbie D. Lord, 85, longtime Morgan County resident, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan.  He was born December 13, 1935, in Fort Morgan to Arnold & Dora Lord.

In February of 1956 Bob joined the US Navy.   While stationed in San Francisco, CA, Bob met the love of his life, Janice Ulrich of Big Springs, NE.  They were married on December 1, 1956 and together had 4 children.

Following his honorable military discharge, the Lord family moved to Big Springs, NE for a short time and then to Englewood, CO.  Bob worked as Chief of Police for the city of Sheridan and later served as an investigator for the Colorado Insurance Division prior to his retirement in 1992, when they then moved to Fort Morgan in 1992.

Bob & Jan enjoyed their long retirement together.  They travelled to many places across the US and he did many handyman jobs for the community.  Bob enjoyed friendly banter in person and on Facebook.  In this free time you could find him on the golf course and spending time with his family.

Survivors include three children Mike (Cindy) Lord of Aurora, CO, Pam (Rick) Hinojos of Snyder, CO  and Shawn (Anna) Lord of Thornton, CO, and his daughter-in-law Denise Lord of Thornton, CO.   He had 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, 1 son, Todd, 3 sisters and his parents.

A funeral service will be  Thursday, July 8 at 11:00 AM at Christ's Church, 330 State Street in Fort Morgan.  The service will conclude at the church.  Interment will take place in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver at a later date.  Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Wednesday, July 7 from 4 – 6 PM.
