Bonnie Jean Caneva passed away on Thursday January 25, 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona following a brief illness. Bonnie was born to the late Rosa Elliott-Scott and Athol Scott on May 4, 1930 in Cimarron, Kansas. Bonnie was the youngest of five siblings, Lavon Tallman, John Scott, Lucille Smith and Kenneth Scott, all deceased. Bonnie lived most of her formative years in Johnson, Kansas until her family moved to Akron, Colorado her senior year of high school. Bonnie was a beautiful young woman of twenty-two when she would meet the love of her life, Eugene "John" Caneva at a roller skating rink in Brush, Colorado. They would marry July 27, 1952 and move to Fort Morgan to start their long and loving bond together for nearly fifty years.

Bonnie and John would take over the Caneva family farm known as Sunnyside Ranch and together they would start with thirty acres and grow their business to eight hundred acres over their lifetime and add a large dairy. Bonnie and John would be partners in the business and Bonnie would continue to run the farm for twelve and a half years after John's death in 2002.

Bonnie had numerous creative interests. She was a painter and had numerous paintings shown in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was an expert gardener, excellent cook, seamstress and could create, engineer and master any craft. She would play bridge throughout her lifetime, be elected as PTA President for two terms, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for thirty two years, a lifelong member of the Fort Morgan United Methodist Church, secretary for the Deuel and Snyder for numerous years and was an active volunteer throughout her community in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Bonnie and John raised two children, Denise Caneva Biggane and Marc Caneva both of Scottsdale, Arizona. She would champion their interests and their successes throughout her lifetime. She would think of her son-in-law Dennis as a delightful addition to the Caneva family. She would proudly speak of her three grandchildren, Annissa and Ian Biggane and Jenna Caneva and take many trips to Arizona to be a part of their numerous activities and holiday celebrations.

Bonnie's funeral will be at 10:30 am Friday, February 2, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens. There will be a luncheon at the church following the interment to celebrate Bonnie's life and all are welcome to come.
