Bonnie Helmberger, 79, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at home and surrounded by her children in Fort Morgan. Born March 27, 1931 near St. Bernard, Nebraska, Bonnie was the youngest of 14 children of Isabelle Schaefer and Frank Albracht. She is survived by her four children, Diana Noonan of Denver, Richard Helmberger of Highlands Ranch, Jane Shur of Littleton, and Amy Bricker of Colorado Springs, 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grand children, her sisters Gerri Schmidt of Columbus Nebraska, Darlene Korus of Lindsey, Nebraska, and one brother, Bill Albracht of Broken Bow, Nebraska and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Gene Helmberger, seven sisters and three brothers. A partner in her husband's photography business, Gene's Studio, she worked with him for many years until retirement in 1990 when they began to travel together. A lover of life, Bonnie enjoyed her family, friends, quilting, cooking, playing Bridge, golf, and socializing. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. A rosary will be held on Monday, November 22 at 6 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 23 at 10:30 AM at Saint Helena Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the Serenity Falls Columbarium.
