Bonnie June Winberg passed away peacefully in her room at Eben Ezer Care Center in Brush, Colorado, on October 13, 2022 at the age of 91.

Bonnie was born July 14, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, to Hugh Frederick Carpenter and Christina Velva (Peck) Carpenter. She moved with her family from Nebraska to Iowa, where they lived for several years, then to Fort Morgan, Colorado in 1948.

Bonnie was working for the USDA Farm Services when she met Raymond Winberg and they were married on June 22, 1951 in Fort Morgan. There they made their life-long home with their three children: Neal, Terry and Robin.  In the mid-sixties, Bonnie began grooming dogs and was known as the "dog grooming lady" in Morgan County for 35 years. She put her bows and polish away and closed the business in 1991 to nurse Ray back to health following a farming accident. While overseeing the continuing farm business, they also enjoyed attending antique auctions and antique refurbishing.

In 2000, Ray and Bonnie sold their home west of Fort Morgan and moved to town. After Ray passed away in 2014, Bonnie remained in their home until 2021 when she decided it was time to downsize. While living in town, Bonnie enjoyed being active for many years as a hospital volunteer and was an enthusiastic participant at senior exercise classes. She also faithfully tended to the Serenity Falls Columbarium flower gardens.

From an early age, Bonnie respected the word of God and used it to light the way for her personal life. She loved the simple teachings and demonstrations of Jesus, always doing that which pleased God. Following those examples, her devotions remained a focus throughout her life.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Neal (Shelley) Winberg of Westcliffe; Terry (Cheryl) Winberg of Fort Morgan, and Robin (Jim) Gagnon or Larkspur; seven grandchildren, Shane (Sarah) Winberg, Natasha (Duane Rorie) Winberg, Cody (Heather Pawlak) Winberg, Malorie (Cameron) Kokes, Alison (Ryan) Noon McMahon, Matthew (Jen) Gagnon, Jennifer (Matt) Bryant; and six great grandchildren, Madison Bryant, Aiyonne Bryant, Colton Pawlak, Abigail Winberg, Harlie Winberg, and Hunter Winberg. She is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Hawes, Shirley Griffee, Karen Brown, and Jerry Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. A reception will follow at the Gene Doty Senior Center.
