Brenda K. Nelson, 51, of Ft. Morgan, died Sunday morning at her home in Ft. Morgan. She was born August 9, 1957 in Aberdeen, SD to Melvin and Delaine Maxon. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1982. She has worked as an accountant for the Cargill Meat Company for the past 27 years. She began working for Cargill Meat in Plainview, TX. She worked in the Dodge City and Witchita, KS offices as well as the Beardstown, IL office before moving to Ft. Morgan where she was working at the time of her death. Brenda enjoyed doing yoga and aquatics, quilting, reading, Sudoku puzzles and watching movies. She was involved in the local Toastmasters and she was serving on the Board of Directors for SARA. She is survived by her brothers and sisters; Julie Balster and husband Galen of Alexandria, VA; Holly Langenfeld and husband Joe of McLean, VA; Kristy Messner and husband Darren of Belle Fourche, SD; Brett Maxon and wife Aslam of Maple Grove, MN; Michele Webb and husband Tom of Friendswood, TX; Jeffrey Maxon and wife Jacki of Burnsville, MN; 13 nieces and nephews and her parents, Melvin and Delaine Maxon of Lemmon, SD. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at the Saint Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. A memorial mass will be held Monday, June 8th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon, South Dakota. Inurnment will be at the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon, SD. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish, may make memorial donations in Brenda's name to the National Jewish Hospital Research Foundation in care of the Heer & Dahl Mortuary 225 E. Platte Ave. Ft.
