Bruce E. Hall, 96, of Ft. Morgan, died Monday evening at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan. He was born April 7, 1910 in Little Falls, Minnesota, to Edmund Horace and Mary Elizabeth (Daily) Hall. His family immigrated to a farm west of Platteville in 1911. In 1916 they moved to the homestead north of Ft. Morgan. Bruce attended county schools in the upper wildcat and then to the antelope bend where he graduated from 8th grade . He graduated from the Ft. Morgan High school in 1927. He worked on the farm for many years, and was drafted into the Army in 1942. He served 42 months, including 27 month in the western Aleutian Islands with the anti-aircraft artilliery . In 1945 he married Bernice Hullinger, They had one child Sandra Kay "Sandi". After returning from the service Bruce operated the Enco Service Station for 25 years. After retiring from the service station Bruce began buying distressed properties and repairing them for rentals. He was active in several organizations, he was a member of the United Methodist Church, a fifty year member of the Masons Oasis Lodge # 67, he was a member of the Elks BPOE # 1143, a life member of the American Legion Post # 19 , and the V.F.W. # 2551, he was the secretary for the Morgan Game and Fish Conservation Club for 20 years, and he was a retired Volunteer Fireman with the Ft. Morgan Volunteer Fire Department. Bruce had five brothers, Clair, Howard, Vern, Wayne and Merle, Three sisters Alice, Ruth, and Elsie. His wife Bernice died in 2004 after over 58 years of marriage. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Ft. Morgan, the service will conclude at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Serenity Falls Columbarium with the American Legion conducting Military Honors .
