Burke Doty, 80, life resident of the Fort Morgan community, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014, at his home. He was born April 17, 1934, on the family near Fort Morgan, to George & Goldie Doty. Burk graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1953. He served in the US Army from 1958 until his honorable discharge in 1962. He married Janet Kammerer on July 30, 1967, in Fort Morgan. The Doty's owned and operated a hog farrowing farm north of Fort Morgan. After Burke decided to quit farming, he owned and operated Park Lane Barber Shop. Burke was a member of the Elks Lodge #1143 and the GWRRA (Gold Wing Motorcycle Association). He enjoyed working with wood in his free time. Survivors include his wife, Janet; son, Ty of Fort Morgan , daughter Kim of California; brothers and sisters, Gene Doty, Georgia Hulquist and Shirley Kula all of Fort Morgan; Dale Doty of Cheyenne, WY, Kenneth Doty of Fort Collins; Udella McConnell of Windsor, CO, Joyce Oden of Washington and Lorie Wageman of Oregon. He was precede in death by his son, Chad; brothers, Don & Larry Doty; and his parents. At Burke's request no service will be held. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Heer Mortuary & Crematory. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to Hospice & Palliative Care of North Colorado c/o the Heer Mortuary.
