Obituary

Carol Clutter passed away on June 15, 2024 after many years of congestive heart disease. She was born to Matthew and Mable Powers April 24,1943. They lived her early years on a farm south of Brush (Gary). The family moved to Fort Morgan in 1960. They moved next door to the Clutters and the rest is history. Carol and Don married November 11, 1962. Soon followed by their daughter, Susan.

Carol had the life of a sailor's wife, and they were stationed in many places: San Diego CA, Bremerton WA, Charleston SC, Dunoon Scotland, Sidi Yahia Morocco and Great Lakes IL. Upon Don's naval retirement they moved back to Fort Morgan. Carol started her 25 year career as a school bus driver for the Fort Morgan School District. She loved being a school bus driver and she especially loved the kids. She had many routes, as well as migrant, head start, kindergarten, and out of town activities. Can't you just see her now watching you in the mirror?

During her summers off, Carol and Don traveled mostly on motorcycle extensively all over the continental US and Canada. After retiring from driving bus, Carol and Don were winter visitors to Yuma, AZ.

Carol is survived by her husband Don, daughter Susan (Wally) Baker. Grandchildren Scott (Kim) Baker, Karli (Garrett) Seymour, and 3 great grandchildren. Her sisters Mary Patten, Kathy Powers Durben and brother Jim ( Rita) Powers.

Carol's memorial service will be held at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan at 10:30 am on Thursday June 20th.
