Beatrice "Carol" Franklin, born in Brush, CO on November 18, 1939, died peacefully on January 19, 2014, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, OK, after a long illness. She was 74. Strong in her faith, she attended and was confirmed at the First United Church of Christ. Carol graduated from Brush High School in 1958. Shortly thereafter, she attended Cosmetology School in Greeley, CO and went on to run a successful business for more than 18 years. She was the beloved owner of Carol's House of Beauty and a treasured member of the Brush community. In 1971, she met the love of her life, Larry and they were married that following year. They enjoyed a wonderful life together that took them to Broomsfield, CO, Visalia, CA, and then Torrington, WY where they raised their three children. Married more than 42 years, she loved to camp, fish and travel and took numerous cruises but the most enjoyable time of her life was just spending her days with her husband. Carol was preceded in death by her father, John R. and her mother Pauline Koehler and is survived by her brother Albert Koehler, and his wife Carolyn, her husband, Larry and their three children, Lee and his wife Sherry, Patty, and Carole and her partner Jason and her seven grandchildren, Ashlee, Ellee, Shelby, Joshua, Brayden, Arianna and Kiera. She also leaves behind six nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 24, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Immanuel Congregational Church in Brush, CO. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary in Brush on Thursday from 3 - 6 P.M..
