Lynda Carol Spomer, 84, of Fort Morgan, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her home. She was born August 13, 1938 in Fort Morgan to Harry & Ruth (Dexhimer) Haber.

The Haber family lived in Minnesota. When Carol was a child, they lived in California but they later returned to Fort Morgan where Carol attended school and graduated from Fort Morgan High School with the class of 1956.

Carol married Robert Spomer in Fort Morgan on December 1, 1958. They lived in Steamboat for a short time then returned to Fort Morgan. Carol had worked at Harned Bakery, was a Children's Librarian at Fort Morgan Public Library, and lastly, worked as a cook at East Morgan County Hospital and Valley View Villa before she retired.

Carol was a member of Platte Valley Baptist Church in Fort Morgan.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Spomer Babcock (William Rodney) of Fort Morgan; sister-in-law, Ramona Haber of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Kenny Evans (Daniela), Dustin Evans (Whitney), Michael Akerlund (Kelly Lourenco), and Chad and Jamie Strange; great grandchildren, Thalia, Camila, James, Mahki, Acen, Stetson, Briar, Michael, Alijah, Chloe, Tae, and Carina.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; and four children, Roberta, Michael, James, and Annie; grandson, Ryan and great grandchild, Kai; and her brother, Wayne Haber.

Iurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan on Saturday, June 3rd at 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM at Platte Valley Baptist Church, 22750 Hwy. 34 in Fort Morgan.
