Carolyn F. Martinez, 48, passed away suddenly at her home in Fort Morgan early Wednesday, April 20,2011. She was born May 9, 1962, in Sidney, NE to Clark & Doris Burris. Carolyn married Rick Martinez on May 20, 1978, in Fort Morgan. At the time of her death, Carolyn worked as a cook / waitress at the Overland Trail Café near Atwood, CO. She attended the Grace of God Church. She enjoyed swimming, fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Rick; 2 daughters, Vanessa Martinez and Mrs. Jose (Melissa) Camacho all of Fort Morgan; 1 sister, Colleen Speer of Dighton, KS; 3 brothers, Terry Burris and Clayton Burris both of Biloxi, MS, Steve Burris of Hattiesburg, MS; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Platte Valley Baptist Church, 708 Warner Street in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Chapel in Fort Morgan on Monday from 4 – 7 PM.
