Catalina Molina, 86, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the Sterling Regional MedCenter. She was born March 22, 1926, in Stenton, TX, to Joaquin & Ramona Mendoza. Catalina was a longtime resident of Morgan & Logan Counties. After attending school in Wiggins, Catalina married Basilio Molina in Fort Morgan. She worked as a teacher in the Head Start Program. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Crocheting, Playing the piano, organ, and saxophone, collecting knick knacks and antiques, and working in her rose garden. She will be remembered by many as one who ate at the Home Plate I restaurant nearly every day for the past few years. Survivors include her husband, Basilio; 4 daughters, Mary Molina, Isabelle Molina and Rebecca Benavides all of Sterling, and Ellen Klotzbach of Fort Morgan; 1 son, Basil Molina Jr. of Brush; 3 brothers, Robert Mendoza and Abel Mendoza both of Fort Morgan, and Henry Mendoza of Hammond, IN; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Josephine Castro; and 2 brothers, Stephen Mendoza and Daniel Mendoza. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Graveside services will follow at Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan.
