Charlene Kay Widhalm, 73, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013, at her home in Brush. She was born May 21, 1940, in Snyder, CO, to Alvin & Jessie Swaithes. Charlene spent her early childhood attending school in Brush. In 1959 Charlene married Don Widhalm in Fort Lupton. Both Charlene and Don worked for Safeway Grocery Stores and spent time in Broomfield and Aurora. After retiring, the couple lived in Corpus Christi, TX before returning to Brush in 2006. A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Charlene enjoyed her church, her friends and her many volunteer activities. But where she truly shined was with her family. Survivors include her husband, Don, of 54 years, her children, Cissy, Criss, and Christopher (Kimberly); her grandchildren, Dawn Marie (Scott) Johnson, Joseph (Lauren) Widhalm, Corey Widhalm, and Keara Werth and her great grandsons, Evan and Austin Johnson. She has one sister, Winona Weikum, and three brothers Lloyd, Ken, and Dean Swaithes. She is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. A rosary service will be Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at 7:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church. The service will conclude at the church. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
