Charles F. Custer Jr., passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008, at the Sterling Living Center in Sterling, Colorado. He was born October 13, 1921, in Chicago, IL, to Charles & Frances Custer. He graduated rom the University of Minnesota with his B. S. degree in Animcal Husbandry. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1941 until 1945. Churck worked as a beef sales manager fro Swift & Co., Armour, Sterling Colorado Beef, and Topco, He has lived in Fort Morgan since 1983. Chuck was active int he Boy Scouts, serving at the Council, District, and Troop lvelsfor over 25 years. Churck was elected to the O'Fallon, IL, School Board in 1964, and served as president during the construction of the Estalle Kampmeyer Elementary School. Chuck was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grand Island, NE, and the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Brush, Masonic Lodge AF & AM #576 in O'Fallon for 44 years, a Noble of the Tehama Shriners of Hastings, NE, US Golf Association, the Elks Lodge, and Fort Morgan Pitch Club. Survivors include his wife, Cleora; 2 children, Edward Allan Custer and Frances Mae Dimick; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Jean Anderson, and his parents. A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 601 Custer Street in Brush, at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the service. Inurnment will be in Serenity Falls Columbarium. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the memorial service arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the James E.
