Obituary

Charles R. Mallory, a longtime resident of Fort Morgan, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Valley View Villa after several years of bad health.

Charles was born March 13, 1927 to Charles and Bertha (Earsom) Mallory on a farm near Clark, MO.  He graduated from High School in 1945 and from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL in 1946.  He attended night classes at a Junior college in Moberly, MO. On December 5, 1948 he married the love of his life Dora L. Ess in Sturgeon, MO.  After they were married they both took an active part in The Balanced Farming Program.  In 1964, they moved from Missouri to Longmont, CO where Charles went to work for the PureGro Fertilizer Company.  He started out as a laborer and worked his way up to manager at the Loveland location. In 1976 he was transferred to Fort Morgan as an assistant manager.  After retiring in 1993, he worked for Central Auto making deliveries.

He has been a member of the First Christian Church since he was ten years old. His wife joined him in 1949 and they were both active church members wherever they lived.  Charles liked to travel, read and spend time with his family. He loved them all very much.

Charles is survived by his children; Karen (Stephen) VonFeldt of Longmont, Diane (Mark) Leon of Las Vegas, NV, Christine Deal (the late Butch Jones) of Fort Morgan, Bruce (Teresa) Mallory of Fort Morgan, and Dwight (Julie) Mallory of Greeley;  grandchildren; Stephanie (Abraham) Paetow of Longmont,  Amber (Trevor) Sena of Aurora, Tiffany (Shayne) Gorman of Honolulu, HI, Angela (Brian) Menke of Thornton and Shawn Deal of Greeley; one great-grandchild, Jacqueline Deal; one brother Robert (Elaine) Mallory of Winchester, OR.

He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 65 years, Lorene Mallory; one son, Phillip Mallory; one sister, Charlene Colley and his parents.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 10:00 at First Christian Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow at Serenity Falls Columbarium.
