Cheryl A. Gotto, 77, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at her home in Brush following a short illness. She was born June 12, 1944 in Sterling, CO to William & Mildred Gilreath.
Cheryl graduated from South High School in Denver. On May 31, 1969, she married John A. Gotto in Denver. In 1974 the Gotto family moved to Brush. Cheryl graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She was an elementary school teacher in the Brush School District for 20 years.
Cheryl was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her favorite activities were spending time with her family, travel, and a good slot machine. She enjoyed playing golf with her family and friends in locations across the world.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John; three children, Greg (Heidi) Gotto, Jeff (Jeni) Gotto and Kim (Mike) Brunkhardt; one sister, Jan Trunce; four grandchildren, Taylor Gotto, Jaxton Gotto, Nicolas Clark and Ryan Clark; and one great granddaughter, Ivy Gotto. She was preceded in death by her brother Bob Gilreath and her parents.
Cheryl was a mother figure to more than her children. She enjoyed teaching; caring for children was her calling which created the determination to go back to college while raising a family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, at 11:00 AM. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM. Both services will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. The service will conclude at the Church. The family prefers memorial gifts be given to the Cheryl Gotto Memorial Fund c/o the Heer Mortuary.
