Obituary

Christine Teresa Gollobith, 100, longtime Sterling & Brush resident, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley. She was born September 24, 1914, in Plainville, KS, to John and Eva Becker. Christine grew up on the family farms in St. Peter's Colorado and Idaho. She married Elroy Gollobith in 1931. She worked for JC Penney in Sterling, Brush and Fort Morgan for 25 years. She was a member St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Sterling and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. Christine enjoyed attending Mass everyday, golfing, crocheting, traveling, working crossword puzzles, the Denver Broncos, dancing and trips to Black Hawk with her sisters. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her Caribbean cruise was a special treat. Survivors include her daughter, Claudia Kaiser, and husband Ken of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Ellen Engel and her husband Doug; Chuck Rieb and his wife, Cathy; Crystal Winter, and her husband Brad; Loren Gollobith; Roy Gollobith, and his wife Stacy; Kirk Kaiser, and his wife Annette; Scott Kaiser, and his wife Jennifer; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great - great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Pauline Hayes of Greeley; Mary Bridges, and her husband Ben of Vernal, UT; along with brothers Florence Becker, and his wife Pat of Brighton; Bill Becker, and his wife Terri of Brighton; and Bob Becker, and his wife Marge of Huntington Beach, CA. She is also survived by, and cared for, by 51 nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by her son Loren Gollobith; her daughter, Marilyn Rieb and son-in-law Ken Rieb; sisters, Betty Sewald, Coletta Sewald, Helen Callow, Catherine Becker, a brother Joey Becker and her parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 19, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brush, at 12:00 P.M. A Rosary will precede the service at 11:15 AM. The service will conclude at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date.
