Clara May Weimer, 90, long time Morgan County resident, passed away Tuesday evening, September 28, 2010, at the inpatient hospice unit at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Clara May was born December 24, 1919, in Chester, IL, to Rudolph & Annie Meyer. When Clara May was a child, the Meyer family moved to Morgan County. She graduated from Fort Morgan High School. Following her graduation, Clara May married Rienhart Weimer. The Weimer's moved to the Wiggins community. Prior to retirement, Clara May cooked at the Wiggins School for 38 years. She was a charter member of the Wiggins Community Church, where she was confirmed, served as a Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking, especially having cookies & milk always available at her house for the grandkids and great grandkids. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work, quilting, play cards, listening to polka music, babysitting in her family and friends children, and going to Meet 'n Eat. She was also a member of the Wiggins Firemen's Auxiliary. Survivors include her 2 daughters, Barbara (Steve) Ledford, and Phyllis (Carl) Baessler all of Wiggins; 4 sisters, Eva Taylor of Berthoud, CO, Faye Poe, Dorothy Nestor, and Helen Thompson all of Fort Morgan; her sister-in-law, Maugie Wright of Wiggins; 5 grandchildren, Brad (Kathy) Ledford, Brett (Amy) Ledford, Marc (Angy) Ledford all of Greeley; Duane Baessler of Evans, CO, and Darin (Rena) Baessler of Wiggins; 12 great grandchildren, Kaleb LEdrod, Kyrstin Ledford, Kylee Ledford, Abby Ledford, Samantha Ledford, Jessica Ledford, Kyser Baessler, Kolvyn Baessler, Brevin Baessler, Derek Baessler, Mason Baessler, and Ryder Baessler; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhart Weimer, her parents Rudolph Meyer and Annie Meyer-Wright; 4 brothers, Fred Wright, Harold Wright, Bob Wright, and Glenn Wright; and 1 great granddaughter, Brittni Ledford. Funeral services will be Monday, October 4, 2010, at 10:00 AM at the Wiggins Community Church. Interment will follow in the Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Fort Morgan on Sunday from 1 – 4 PM. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Wiggins Community Church c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuary.
