With heavy hearts we share the passing of Clark B Wilson. After 91 years here on earth, he went home to Jesus, surrounded by his loved ones on June 11, 2026.

Clark was born February 18,1935, the 7th of 8 children to Charley and Alys Wilson in Maple Hill Kansas. He grew up on the family farm in Wheaton Kansas, where he graduated from high school in 1953. Later attending Kansas State in Manhattan Kansas, majoring in Ag economics.

He met his wife Joan Tannehill at a Co-op Convention in Kansas City, Missouri in 1959. He worked at the Co-op in Longmont, while entering every rodeo he could, riding broncs and bulls.

Clark and Joan married on October 9, 1960 at the Henderson Congregational Church in Henderson, CO and moved to Hereford CO, where they welcomed 2 of 3 children, before moving to Wiggins in May of 1963, starting his lifelong passion of running The Wiggins Co-op. In 1965 they moved to what is still known as Home. He earned his PRCA Gold Card before he retired from rodeo in 1968. Clark retired from the Co-op in 1996, but for many years he could be found at the Co-op visiting. He would do odd jobs here and there to keep himself busy, driving truck, fixing fence and working cows for neighbors and friends. He had some "horse wrecks" along the way that took a toll on his body, but he was always ready to get back in the saddle.

Clark was well known for his caring nature, being a patient teacher to many and a steward of the livestock and land he so proudly cared for. He was respected, adored and loved by Many! He would be the first to come and fill a propane tank in the middle of a cold winter night, change a tire in the rain and care for a foal or calf any hour of the day or night. He worked like an ox, was ornery as they come, always had a good joke and a Smile! His love for horses and "his girls" the cows, was apparent, as he spoke of them often. He loved his family most of all. Spending endless hours with anyone willing to learn to ride, rope, rodeo, tend the animals and how to show a horse or a steer at the county fair with a few pigs and goats mixed in. He was and always will be our Hero! The legacy he has left will continue thru his family and friends!

Clark is survived by his devoted and loving wife Joan of 65 years (and 8 months). Their three children Martin Wilson-Ft Morgan CO, Loretta (Rick) Pitner-Tellico Plains TN and Clinton Wilson-Haxtun CO. Seven Grandchildren: Milo (Destiny)Wilson, Monica (Shep)Sheppard, Skyler (Britteney)Wilson, Michaela (Spencer)Bell, Halle Lu (Elijah)Stanley, Clayton Wilson, Wyatt Wilson. Fifteen Great grandchildren: Brynden, Conner, Bryse, Rozilyn, Berlynn, Keegan, Madison, Brodie, Jayce, Lilianne, Taggert, Addison, Stetson, Sterling and Rose. And two great-great grandchildren: Willow and Haisley.

Clark was proceeded in death by his parents, 6 of his 7 siblings, numerous lifelong friends and many that left us way to soon.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 11th from 1 – 3 PM at Wiggins Community Church, 423 Dickson Street in Wiggins. A luncheon will be provided for all to share.
