Our Mother, Claudia Stallings was a farm girl, on an all-girl farm in Burlington, Colorado.  Claudia was born on July 27, 1946. She was the second child born to Wayne and Hildur Schiffner, parents of " The  Schiffner Girls ": Kathleen, Claudia, Sharon, Waynette, Harriet and Nancy.

She graduated from Burlington High School and furthered her education by attending Colorado State University and Maricopa Tech Community College, where she was the Valedictorian and received a scholarship to complete her BS degree in Psychology at Arizona State University. Graduating with honors, she continued her education working on her MA at Northern Arizona University.

Mom didn't always live in Burlington. She married and gave birth to two girls; Margo was born in Nebraska and Andrea was born in Pennsylvania. It was in Arizona that Mom decided to pursue a career in Mental Health. She went to school to work on her BS and MA, while she supplemented her income working in the freight loading docks and established her own construction cleaning company.

In 1984, she moved us to Burlington, to introduce the "City Girls" to life in the rural community and living in the country.  In 1991, she moved to Ft Morgan to follow her career in Mental Health; working at Centennial Mental Health and Sterling Correctional Facility. Upon retirement she opened a business with daughter Andrea, called All About U, in Brush, CO.

Mom was better known as "Grammy." She was blessed with 4 beautiful grandchildren; Jeremy Allen, Alexandrea Rene, Clayton Wayne, Sidney Ann, and one great granddaughter, Cadence Marlene. Her grandchildren were her life! Grammy would attend activities for her grandkids; concerts, ball games, plays, also sharing her passion for cooking. Any opportunity to spend time and make memories.

In 2018, Mom really did retire; that truly meant she got busier! Mom was just like her Dad Wayne, she didn't know how to slow down. In October, her health started to fail; she didn't let that get her down. She had "ultimate control" and continued to live whichever way the pendulum would swing. We knew when she lost the battle that she would say, "I gave it my all!"

On March 20, 2019, at 7:03 pm at St. Anthony's North, in Westminster, CO, we told her, "It's ok to go. We got this. We love you!"

A Celebration of Life to honor Claudia will be held Thursday, April 4 ^th at 1:00 PM at the First Christian Church, 225 W. Bijou Ave., Fort Morgan.
