CLEO JEAN VANTRIES, 72, of Brush, died Monday, October 29, 2007 at Fairacres Manor in Greeley. She was born October 2, 1935 in Longmont, CO to Walter & Ruth (Cunningham) Nicks. She married Glenn Sullivan in 1957. They later divorced and she married Kenneth Vantries on December 5, 1975. Mr. & Mrs. Vantries moved to Brush from Longmont in 1976. Mrs. Vantries taught piano lessons in her home for 50 years in Longmont and Brush. She has been a resident at Fairacres Manor in Greeley for the last 9 months of her life. Vantries was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Brush. She enjoyed photography and especially liked going for drives in the countryside with her husband to look for new things to photograph. She won several ribbons in the photo contests that she entered. Jean was also an avid dog lover. She raised poodles, Yorkshire Terriers, and Doxie-poodles. Mrs. Vantries is survived by her husband, Kenneth Vantries of Brush and currently in Windsor; her son, William "Bill" Sullivan of Longmont; and her brother, Vernon Nicks of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Virginia Ekx. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31st from 5 – 8 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 222 Cameron Street in Brush. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 1st at 10:00 AM, also at the Chapel. Interment services will follow the on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont. Memorial gifts may be made in Mrs. Vantries' name to the Heer Mortuary. The funds will be used to help children pay for piano lessons.
