CLYDE "STUB" ROBERTS, 89, lifelong area resident, died early Monday morning, January 8, 2007 at the Valley View Villa in Fort Morgan. Roberts was born September 12, 1917 in Sunny Slope, Alberta, Canada to William & Alva (Winn) Roberts. He married Josephine Adams on May 10, 1938 in Denver. Mr. Roberts has owned and operated Stub's Gas & Oil in Wiggins, CO since 1949. He was a member of the VFW Post 2551 & American Legion Post 19. He enjoyed sports and was and avid Denver Bronco's fan. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time at his gas station. Survivors include his wife Jo Roberts of Wiggins; two daughters, Judy Roberts and Janet Roberts, both of Wiggins; two sons, Jerry Roberts of Sahuarita, AZ, and Jim Roberts of Fort Morgan; one sister, Ruby Linker of Fort Morgan; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son John Roberts; his brother John Roberts, and his sister, Pearl Rees. A memorial service will be Friday, Jan. 12th at 10:30 AM at the Wiggins Community Church. Services will conclude at the church. There has been cremation. Private Inurnment will be in the Hoyt Cemetery. Friends may make memorial gifts to the Stub's Gas & Oil Scholarship Fund at Wiggins High School. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
