Obituary

Coleen Joyce Hendrickson 84, was born Sunday morning March 10, 1940 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Samuel Francis Baylie and Geraldine Katherine Zortman. Coleen was also close with her maternal grandparents Christy and Jesse Zortman.

Coleen married Don Hendrickson on March 3, 1957 at the Nazarene Church in Fort Morgan. They were married for 56 years after initially meeting in elementary school. Five children were born, three daughters and two sons: Debbie Keihl (Bob), Windy Faulkingham, Donna Dossey (Bob), Michael Hendrickson (Stephanie) and Steven Hendrickson (Cheri). She was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Coleen lived in Fort Morgan for most of her life. After Debbie was born, the family moved to the Denver area for about fifteen years and then the family moved back "home" to Fort Morgan where she spent the rest of her life.

Coleen had a soft heart and had many pets through the years, treating each and every one of them like the valuable family members they were.

Coleen had many jobs during her 84 years. As a teenager she was a carhop at the A&W Root Beer stand in Fort Morgan. After her children were in school, she was a store manager for 7-Eleven in Thornton, Colorado. When the family moved back to Fort Morgan, she was a personnel Manager for the new K Mart, managed the Foto Fort, a distributor for the Denver Post and a seamstress for National Prebuilt. When Don went to work for Monfort of Greeley driving cross country, Coleen rode with him.

Coleen had many hobbies, making ceramics, collecting ceramic figurines, sewing, making pompom animals, making beaded ornaments, genealogy, jigsaw puzzles, and diamond art.

Coleen will always be remembered for her love of family. We couldn't have asked for a better parent, grandparent, aunt or sister, and we will miss Coleen every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Coleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don, her parents Samuel and Geraldine, stepfather Daniel Barthalama, her brothers Samuel Baylie, Jerry Barker, James Baylie, and Don Baylie. She is survived by her three daughters Debbie, Windy, Donna, two sons Michael and Steven, all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, three sisters Cheryl Haubert (John), Christine Colson (Larry), Sandra Church and many nieces and nephews.
