Connie Sue Adolf Cluff, a beloved member of the Brush, Colorado, community, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024. Connie was born to Helen and William Adolf on July 22, 1955. A native of northeastern Colorado, Connie was raised in Lindon and Akron, Colorado, as one of eight siblings. Her childhood instilled resilience, humor, and deep compassion—values she carried with her throughout her life.

On June 24, 1978, she married Tarry Cluff in Akron, and they made their home in Brush, Colorado. Tarry was her soulmate and the love of her life. Their union inspired everyone fortunate enough to witness it. Together, Connie and Tarry were cherished for their contributions and shared sense of humor.

Connie was a rare force of life. Her boundless energy and infectious laughter enriched everyone she encountered. A lifelong volunteer, Connie dedicated countless hours to her community. She coordinated efforts at the Brush Clinic and Hospital, supported the Lions Club, co-founded the Women's Red Hat Society, and brought joy as Mrs. Claus alongside her husband, Tarry, as "Mr. Claus." She also lent her time to the Parkinson's Support Group and numerous local organizations.

Affectionately known as "The Nacho Lady" at the local high school, Connie delighted in creating elaborate Halloween treat bags for local youth and brought treats for every occasion to residents at Eben Ezer Assisted Living and Nursing Home.

Behind the scenes, Connie worked tirelessly to connect people in need with resources, always offering a kind word or helping hand. She often said, "You don't know what others are carrying, so brighten their day and be kind no matter what." Her spirit of kindness and humor made her a champion for the overlooked and underserved.

Connie's playful nature and zest for life were contagious. She loved dancing and dreamed of being on Soul Train. To those lucky enough to see her, she embodied the show's spirit. A social butterfly, even a quick trip to the store could turn into a two-hour adventure filled with laughter and stories.

Friends and family were at the heart of Connie's life. She was the highlight of every gathering, entertaining children with games, treats, and her vibrant personality. She adored her dogs, Bitsy and Rowdy, and extended her care to many other animals over the years.

In 2012, Connie survived a massive heart attack caused by undiagnosed sleep apnea—a miracle made possible by quick-acting, medically trained neighbors and the loving care of her "heavenly" dogs, who kept her alert during the crisis. Even then, Connie's humor and spirit shone as she famously continued chatting during her journey to the hospital, defying all odds despite having no other vital signs.

After this life-changing event, Connie devoted herself to caring for her mother, Helen L. Heberlein, visiting her daily in assisted living, as well as taking her husband, Tarry, to dialysis three times a week for many years. After their passing, she showed strength and resilience, both mentally and physically.

Connie is mourned by her children by marriage—Tarron, Todd, and Tarek; her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her siblings Shirley Wise, Marjie Hottinger, Darrel Adolf, Mary Heberlein, and Patty Heberlein; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones spanning generations.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tarry Cluff; her father, William "Bill" Adolf; her stepfather, Lewis Heberlein; her mother, Helen L. Heberlein; her brothers John A. Adolf, Dennis L. Adolf, and Charles D. Smelser; her sister-in-law, Patty Adolf; her nephew, Joseph Smelser; and her beloved dogs, Bitsy and Rowdy Cluff.

Connie was a rare gift to the world. Her unwavering faith, humor, and compassion left an indelible mark on the lives she touched. She lived by the principles of kindness, strength, and joy, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished.

A Celebration of Life for Connie will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in the auditorium at Brush Secondary Campus, 400 West Ave, Brush, CO, 80723. The services will be live-streamed via OneRoom. The inurnment service will follow at Brush Memorial Cemetery  Columbarium, 1110 Mill Street.
