Obituary

Cory Laine Eikenberg, 55, of Wiggins, CO passed away peacefully on September 10, 2023 with his family lovingly by his side.

Cory was born on January 23,1968 to Berwin and Doris (Greenwood) Eikenberg. Cory grew up in Weldona, Colorado with his four brothers. In his childhood, Cory loved going to work with his dad and spending time at the river with his brothers and friends.

Cory graduated from Weldon Valley High School. After graduation, he pursued his love of agriculture by working on ranches, dairies, and farms. Eventually, Cory began a career in oil and gas where his passion and knowledge of the industry grew.

Early in life, Cory met Shelly (Hale) Eikenberg, his wife and partner in life. They have been together for 33 years. Cory was Shelly's rock and her personality perfectly complemented his. They have two children, Lacey and Luke.

Cory was known as a family man who loved to provide for his family. He worked hard and built a community within the oil and gas industry. In his free time, he loved to hunt, fish, camp, and spend time outdoors. Cory was a fighter, a jokester, and a kind-hearted man who was loved by his family, friends, and coworkers.

Cory was predeceased by his father Berwin Eikenberg, mother Doris McEwen, and infant son Cody Eikenberg.

Cory is survived by his wife Shelly and two children Lacey Perry (husband Kristjan) and Luke Eikenberg. He is also survived by his brothers Jeff Eikenberg, Randy Eikenberg, Brian Eikenberg (wife Jeannie), as well as half brother Mike Porter. He is also survived by his father-in-law Don Hale (wife Pat), mother-in-law Susan Hale, sister-in-law Becky Rockwell (husband Andy), and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Christ Church, 330 State Street, Fort Morgan CO on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service will immediately follow at Fort Morgan Memory Gardens. A reception/luncheon will be held at Christ Church from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital or Christ Church.
