Our Dear Mother, Crisanta Gonzalez, sadly passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 88. She was a wonderful, caring, kind person and mother to her six children. She had many friends and was loved by so many in the community of Eben Ezer.

Crisanta was born, November 11, 1935, in the city of Guerrero, in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico to Simon Gonzalez and Inez Talamante Gonzalez. She was the third child of seven born into this union.

The family moved to San Ygnacio, Texas and they spent many years migrating to work as laborers in fields of cotton, beets and potatoes. Being that she was the eldest daughter, she not only worked in the fields, but also helped her mother with everyday chores such as cooking, cleaning and doing laundry along with ironing for a family of nine. It was during those migrating trips that she met her first husband, Alejos Molina and married April 4, 1954, and they welcomed six children into this union. They moved to Colorado and made their home working on the Conrad Schaffer Ranch in Weldona, and eventually moved on to work for Don and Marge Jensen. During these years she continued to raise her family of six while holding various jobs, from driving school buses for Weldon Valley School District, working in restaurants, and maintenance. Summers were always spent taking all of us kids to hoe beets, clean potatoes fields, and pick cucumbers to bring in extra income to purchase school clothes. Those years never seemed like work, as mom always seemed to make it an adventure with lots of shenanigans going on among us six kids.

On February 14, 1981, she married Earl Stover, and they spent many happy years together.

On May 15, 1972, she received her certificate of citizenship, it was one of her proudest moments as she only had a third-grade education and she learned to speak, write and read English, so that she could go on to study for her test for citizenship.

While working for the Weldon Valley School District, she would be asked to help translate, which she enjoyed. In 1986, she and her eldest daughter welcomed her granddaughter into their home, and they raised her like their own. Her years at Eben Ezer had her thoroughly enjoying being involved in many activities such as Blessing in a Backpack, cooking Mexican food in a class to share with other residents, working on puzzles, coloring, visiting residents, and her favorite activity of all besides the Mexican cooking, was bingo. She was truly loved by so many at Eben Ezer. The care and attention she received and the friends she made while at Eben Ezer meant the world to her. So, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all those years of caring for our beloved mom. This would be something she would want us to say to you all.

Even in those life challenging years, she was resilient and continued devoting her life to the care and safe well-being of her children. She showed us that no matter what, if you had the motivation and were willing to put in the hard work, anything was possible. She would drop everything to come to the aid of any of her children, always doing what she could. So many memories were made with her that it would take many volumes of books to write them all down, but so blessed to cherish them all in our hearts forever.

Crisanta is survived by daughters, Dolores (Francisco) Lopez of Abilene, Texas, Norma Molina of Log Lane Village, Enedina Molina of Brush, Nancy (Carlos) Gabriel of Fort Morgan; her son, Javier Molina of Log Lane Village; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren, and one brother, Simon (Isabel) Gonzalez of Fort Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Gonzalez and Inez Talamante Gonzalez; brothers, Efrain, Abdon, Juan Gonzalez; sisters, Sofia Coronado, San Juanita Gonzalez Perez; son, Victor Molina, and granddaughter, Brandy Molina.

So, this is not goodbye, our sweet precious mother, but until we meet again.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4-6 PM followed with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 PM at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Saint Helena's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
