Cruz Rodriquez, 85, a forty-two year resident of Morgan County, passed away early Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Brush. She was born December 19, 1923, in Tynan, Texas, to Juan & Luz Canales. In 1944, Cruz married Soledad "Charles" Rodriquez in Bee County, TX. Cruz was a member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her children and their families. Survivors include her children, Sara Rodriquez and Erasmo Rodriquez, both of Brownfield, TX, Gabriel Rodriquez of Brush, Juan Rodriquez of Denver, Adam Rodriquez of Fort Morgan, Ramon Rodriquez of Greeley, Estella Michaelis of Scottsdale, AZ, Jose Rodriquez of Commerce City, Lucia Weis of Salt Lake City, UT, Esmeralda Hernandez of Arkansas, and Christina Flores of Odessa, TX; 37 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great –great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Lucas & Geraldo, several brothers and sisters and her parents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 340 Stanford Street in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 – 6 followed by a rosary & vigil service at 6 PM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush.
