Cynthia "Cindy"
Cae Martinez
Dec 30, 1965 — Aug 16, 2021
Fort Morgan
Cynthia Cae "Cindy" Martinez, age 55, passed away at her home on the morning of August 16, 2021. Her husband, Adam Martinez, was by her side when she passed.
Cindy was born on December 30, 1965, to Patricia (Heardt) Reeves and Hal Reeves here in Fort Morgan, CO. She was the baby sister to a family of four girls, and she never let her sisters forget that. She was not above playing the "baby card" when she needed to, but always with a smile, a joke, something that would make you smile. Her innate sense of humor was evident even at a very young age, and it was one of the things that endeared her most to family and friends alike.
Cindy graduated from Fort Morgan High School in June 1984 and married the love of her life, Adam Martinez, on December 16, 1987. The two of them were blessed with their children, Brad Martinez and Cody Martinez. While Cindy had worked outside the home when first married, once her babies came along, she took her job as Mother very seriously and stayed home to raise her boys and be available for them. Always the caregiver, in recent years Cindy took on the responsibility of caring for her father since her mother passed away.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother-in law, Minnie Martinez, in 2005 and by her mother, Patricia Reeves, in 2016, as well as two brothers- in-law, Ed Martinez and Joe Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Adam Martinez, her father, Hal Reeves, and her father-in-law, Joe Martinez; as well as by her sons, Brad Martinez and his family, wife Irene Martinez and children, Sage Elizabeth and Titus Bradley; and Cody Mekelburg and his husband, Adam Mekelburg and their son, Jaxdin Gunner. Cindy also leaves behind sisters and brothers, Nicky Reeves, Fawn Martinez, Kris and Don Lehman, Tammie and John Dodge, Annette and Scott Roth, and Lalo and Libby Martinez. Her extended family also includes 13 nieces and nephews, and more than 15 great-nieces and -nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan on Wednesday, August 25 th at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made to a GoFundMe page set up in her honor at gofundme.com/f/funeral-for-cindy-martinez
