Dale Clarence Allen, 99, longtime area resident, died Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at his home in Arvada.

Dale was born January 15, 1917 in Orchard, Nebraska to Oscar and Augusta (Retke) Allen. He married Violet May Wilson on September 9, 1939 in Longmont, Colorado.

He worked in construction, and in the propane gas industry. He was a great cook, he loved feeding the squirrels and birds, and was quite a gardener. He enjoyed taking trips to the mountains to visit Blackhawk. Dale had the kindest heart and positive attitude. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fort Morgan in his earlier years.

Dale is survived by one son, Robert L. Allen of Arvada, one daughter, Deanna Maroney (Ken) of Fountain, son-in-law, Gene Kautz of Hillrose, grandchildren, Sherry Ruder of Fort Morgan, Jackie Hill of Kirk, Julie August of Pagosa Springs, Tracy Rollins of Fountain, and Cathy Pyle-Trulson who lives in Missouri, twelve great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife Violet, daughter, Jeanette Kautz, sister, Mildred Goke, grandson, Marty Kautz, great grandson, Nicolas Ruder, and his parents.

Graveside Funeral Services will be Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:30 am at Memory Gardens in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow the services.
