Dale Leroy Larsen, 84, of Loveland, CO, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was born March 23, 1933, in Palo Alto County, IA to Jorgen and Esther (Petersen) Larsen.

Dale attended country school in Palo Alto County before moving to Graettinger. He graduated from Graettinger High School in 1951. Dale attended Dana College in Blair, NE, where he met Betty Ann Schwanke. After graduating in May of 1956, the two were wed on August 12.

Dale began his teaching career in Kimball, NE. He spent summers in Colorado until completing his Masters degree. Once completed in 1961, the family moved to Loveland.

Dale taught in the Thompson School District before retiring from Loveland High School in 1988. Dale worked in order to support his many hobbies. These hobbies include woodworking, gardening, jewelry making, rock hounding, antique collecting, garage saling, apiary sciences (bee keeping), traveling in the motor home, singing and yodeling. He had been an active member of multiple Barbershop Quartets and the Valentine City Chorus. Dale attended the Loveland Bible Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann of Loveland; 2 children, Terry (Anna) Larsen of Brush, CO; Pam (Kerry) Hall of Cheyenne, WY; 4 grandchildren, Reesa, Burke, Keegan, and Zac; and 2 sisters, Dorene (Kenny) Westergard of Spirit Lake, IA; Diann (Dean) Ingebretson of Alexandria, MN and several nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 9, 2018, at 10:30 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2919 Wilson Ave. in Loveland. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 – 10:30. Concluding services and interment will be at the Brush Memorial Cemetery, Brush, CO, on Friday, February 9, at 3:00. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.heermortuary.com .
