Dale Leroy Nichols, 67, lifelong area resident, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his home west of Ft. Morgan. Dale was born August 16, 1946 in Brush to Douglas and Alverda (Carver) Nichols. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1964 until 1967 during the Viet Nam Conflict. Dale enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, woodworking, and taking care of his yard. He was also member of the local V.F.W. Chapter. Survivors include his son, Doug Nichols, and two sisters, Sherry Engle and Terri Robbins. He is also survived by his stepchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by, four brothers, Lyle, Floyd, Dean and Glenn Nichols Sr., and his parents. Memorial Services will be Friday, June 20, 2014 at 2:30 pm at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
