Obituary

DALLAS E. SCOTT, 69, lifelong Fort Morgan resident, died Monday evening, May 5, 2008 at his home after his nearly one year battle with liver cancer. He was born in Fort Morgan on July 17, 1938 to Harley & Bernice (Meyers) Scott. He joined the US Air Force in 1955, and was honorably discharged in 1957. Dallas married Donna "Elaine" Lebsock on June 8, 1962. Dallas was a salesman for the majority of his working years, selling everything from automobiles, farm equipment, and appliances. He retired in July of 2007. Dallas enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, and tending to his yard, which he always kept immaculate. He liked to have Barbecues and especially enjoyed socializing with people. He loved muscle cars and drag racing. Dallas was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Scott of Fort Morgan; the special people in his life, Larry & Shirley Harris of Fort Morgan and their daughters, Amy Harris of Fort Morgan, and Kelly Harris of Greeley; one brother, Clarence Scott of Hillrose; and three sisters, Shirley Scott of Fort Morgan, Betty Wolfe of California, and Joan Latoski of Dacono. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Houston, and Thelma DeBey; and two brothers, Clayton Scott, and Clifford Scott. A memorial service will be Friday, May 9, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church, 618 Main St., Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the church. Private Inurnment will be in Serenity Falls Columbarium in Fort Morgan at a later date. Friends may make memorial donation in Dallas's name to the American Cancer Society, 2255 South Oneida, Denver, CO 80224 or to the First Baptist Church in Fort Morgan. The Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
