Obituary

Dana W. Shinker, 64, passed away suddenly in the emergency room of the Colorado Plains Medical Center on Friday, December 8, 2017. He was born November 14, 1953, in Sidney, NE to Irvin & Verla Mae Shinker.

In 1966 Dana moved to Fort Morgan. Prior to health issues forcing his retirement, Dana worked as an automotive mechanic, a service writer, Machinist he also operated a gas station. At the time of this death he was working part-time at the Brush Golf Course

Dana enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, doing yard work, remodeling and doing projects around the house, he loved his tools. He got a lot of enjoyment out of taking care of his pets. Dana had a lot of friends, and met many people throughout his life, no matter where he was whether it was camping in the mountions or just taking a walk people knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Villarreal; 2 sons, Edward of Fort Morgan and William of Tacoma, WA; 1 brother, Richard Shinker of Fort Morgan; 2 grandchildren, Justin and Krysta; and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

An informal gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the cremation arrangements.
