Obituary

Daniel "Danny" Lester Busch passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2024 at the age of 65.

Danny was born on February 12, 1958 in Fort Morgan, Colorado to Lester and Helen (Bernhardt) Busch. In 1976, he graduated from Wiggins High School and continued his lifelong career as a farmer and rancher on the family farm. Danny married Judy (Venteicher) in Danbury, Iowa on September 21, 1984 and soon after started a family in Wiggins. He imbued his love of agriculture into each of his children and, as the family grew, his grandchildren.

Danny is survived by his wife, Judy (Venteicher), three children, Jeff (Jaylin), Cory (Carly), and Amanda (David), and five grandchildren, Jaydin, Josie, Nolan, Hannah, and Norah; his two sisters, Linda (Kenny) Neb and Karen (Craig) Harris; in-laws Betty Mathew, Lou Venteicher, Connie Collins, Joan (Bob) Bengford, Larry Venteicher, Leon (Sandy) Venteicher, Jim (Becky) Venteicher, Kenny (Debbie) Venteicher, and Becky (David) White; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Helen (Bernhardt) Busch, as well as his grandparents.

Danny was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He loved being in the tractor and working with his cattle. It could be said that he never "worked" a day in his life doing what he loved.

Danny is best remembered for his passion for farming, ranching, and family. He was always kind to others and there to lend a helping hand. Those who knew him best were well aware of how ornery he could be too.

His greatest joy in life was his cattle which was only surpassed by the love for his family and, especially, his grandchildren (and his grand-dog Jazzy). He absolutely loved teasing and spoiling his grandchildren. They all had special nicknames bestowed upon them by Grandpa and could always expect unlimited chocolate milk and Grandpa Cookies when he was around.

Danny will be greatly missed by all those that knew him, but especially by those who loved him.

A visitation will be held at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 5-7 PM with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7 PM. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Wiggins Community Church in Wiggins. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Fort Morgan.
