DANNY STEVE SMITH, 49, of Fort Morgan, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 in Casa Grande, AZ from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. He was born June 11, 1957 in Casa Grande to Sonny & Tommie (Blanchard) Smith. He married JoAnn Rodriguez on July 10, 1996 in Florence, AZ. Smith moved to Fort Morgan from Coolidge, AZ in 2003. He worked for the C.C.A. as a Sergeant for the Department of Corrections in Florence, AZ for several years. At the time of his death he was a Deliveryman for Culligan Water in Fort Morgan. Mr. Smith was a member of Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also liked to play pool. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife JoAnn Smith; and two daughters, Maria Nunez and Theresa Corona, all of Fort Morgan; three brothers, Alan, Mike, & Jerry Smith, all of Casa Grande, AZ; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be Thursday, March 8th from 2 – 7 PM, followed by a Rosary Vigil at 7:00PM, both at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 9th at 10:30 AM at Saint Helena Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. The Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of arrangements.
