Darlene S. Castrup, 80, life resident of the Otis & Brush communities, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center. She was born September 1, 1934, in Otis, CO to Howard & Helen Neal. Darlene graduated from Otis High School in 1952. She married Harry Castrup on June 18, 1953, in Otis. They later separated. Darlene drove a school bus for the Brush and Fort Morgan school districts for 18 ½ years. She also worked as a cook at the Tomahawk Truck Stop, worked at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center and mowed lawns. Darlene enjoyed crocheting, working in her flower garden, and visiting with people. Her favorite activity was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Roger & Marisa Castrup, Larry & Jackie Castrup, Mike & Ann Castrup, and Cheryl & Randy Meza all of Brush; 1 sister, Leveta Draegert of Brush (formerly of Arickaree); 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at 10:00 AM at the All Saints Lutheran Church at Eben Ezer. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Tuesday from 5 - 7 PM.
