Derrell Ray Sumner, 85, passed away at South Platte Health and Rehabilitation Center on June 15, 2022, with his wife by his side.  He was born February 26, 1937 in St. Francis, Kansas to Clayton and Verna Sumner.

Darrell moved to Brush in 1950 and went to the Brush schools. He met Jeanette Niemuth in high school in 1956, and the two were married February 1, 1957. They had two daughters.

Darrel was a hard worker, and liked to hunt and fish, and have fun with his friends. He will be greatly missed.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two daughters, Denise Eicher of Fort Morgan, and Julie Kerk of Arvada; two grandchildren, Daryl Eicher of Fort Morgan, and Madison Kerk of Arvada; three great-grandchildren, Wiley, Arisa and Kaine; four nephews; and one niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Terrell of Brush; and many cousins.
