Obituary

Darryl Schriner Sr. passed away on June 11, 2026.

Darryl was born in Lancaster, Nebraska, the youngest child of Charles and Georgia Schriner, August of 1942. As a farm raised child, he learned the value of a full day's work, the love of family and the love of the Father. Darryl grew to love the outdoors and developed a lifelong interest in almost anything from the old west. He often remarked that he'd been born about 100 years too late.

Darryl had a deep love of God and country, so to the surprise of no one, he joined the military and served as an air crewman in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. While on a period of leave in the service, a chance meeting at a bus stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma led to a lifetime of love for his wife of 57 years, Paula. Darryl's love and dedication to Paula was unwavering and endured, undiminished, through the extended period he served as her primary care giver.

Darryl is survived by two sons, Darryl Jr (Kristina) of Tampa FL, Joseph (Mary Lynn) of Beulah CO, grandson's Bryan (Kalee) of Hinsdale NH, James of Tampa FL, brother-in-law Carl Ward of Owasso OK, cherished nieces and nephews and the dearest of friends and neighbors, Billy and Pam Roberts. Darryl was preceded in death by his wife Paula, daughter Leah, sisters Phyllis and Mary and brothers John, Steve, Robert, Richard and Dale.

The family welcomes all for a visitation from 4-6pm MST on June 21, 2026 at the Heer Mortuary in Ft Morgan, CO. Burial at Ft. Logan National Cemetery will follow on June 22, 2026.
