Dave L. Geist, 69, of Fort Morgan passed away at Banner hospital in Greeley on January 31st, 2025.

Dave was born on August 10th, 1955, in Fort Morgan Colorado, one of six children born to John and Loveon Geist.

Dave met the love of his life, Debbie Dibbens while they were in High School, and married June 28th, 1975, and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. They began their married life in Fort Morgan and raised 3 children, David Jr, Michael, and Samantha.

Though Dave's passion was working on cars, his favorite role was that of "Papa". He treasured his time with his grandkids. Never failing to love each one of his grandkids in his own special way.

Always by his side was his German Shepard "Chip".

Over the years he worked at the feed lot in Morgan, built trailers, worked at a body shop and until his retirement in 2022, he worked for Kinder Morgan.

Dave's true passion was working on his hot rods in the shop. He spent nights, weekends, and days off building, customizing and working on his cars. His two prize possessions are his 36 Chevy and 34 Hudson. He was never satisfied with his latest modifications. Always trying to outdo himself.

Dave is survived by his wife, Debbie; sons, David Jr (Karen) Geist, Michael Geist, and daughter Samantha (Wyatt) Grippin. Grandchildren, Dylan and Travis Geist; Kyleigh, Kane, Macie Grippin and Aubrey Geist. Mother Loveon Geist,; brothers Harold Geist of Bailey, Steve (Lori) Geist of Douglas WY, John "Bud" (Cathy) Geist of Fort Morgan, Barry (Jamie) Geist of Fort Morgan; sister Deanna (Russell) Vondy of Westminster; brother-in law, George (Erica) Kenner, sisters-in-law Dreama Smith, and Janet Goff and many extended family and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his father John Geist; parents-in-law George (Sparky) and Tillie Kenner, brothers-in-law Randy Smith and Roger Goff; sister-in-law Alicia Kenner.

Celebration of life services will be at Platte Valley Baptist Church 22750 US Hwy 34, Fort Morgan on February 7th, 2025,   at 11:00am. With a luncheon to follow.
