Dave C. Kallweit, 53, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, following a lengthy illness.  He was born September 21, 1964 in Denver to Vernon & Dorothy Kallweit.

Following graduation from high school, Dave joined the US Marine Corps where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1990.  In 1997, Dave began a career with the Morgan County Sheriff's Office until ill health forced his retirement in 2012.  On April 8, 2006, Dave married Jill Amman Elliott.

Dave was a member of the NRA and the American Legion.  He enjoyed shooting guns, doing architectural drawings, collecting coins, and working with classic vehicles.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jill; 4 sons, Eric (Amie), Travis (Michelle), Randy (Kristen) and Brandon Elliott all of Fort Morgan; his Mother, Dorothy Kallweit of Littleton, CO; 2 brothers, Russ (Barb) Kallweit of Strasburg, CO, Chuck Kallweit of Denver; 3 sisters, Cindy (Larry) Higman of Elizabeth, CO, & Mary Kober of Santa Maria, CA; his sister-in-law, Lisa Kallweit of Castle, Rock, CO; 2 grandchildren, Brodie and Addison; and his parents-in-law, Don & Sherry Amman.  Also by a host of other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his Father; 1 brother, Jim; and 2 sisters, Cathy and Elizabeth.

Military honors will be presented at a graveside service at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  Participants will include the US Marine Corps Honor Guard, the Associated Veterans Honor Guard, and the Patriot Guard on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:30 AM.  Inurnment will follow the service at Fort Logan.  The Heer Mortuaries & Crematory is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
