David Arthur Gammel, 59, longtime area resident, currently of Greeley, died Saturday July 1, 2017 at Medical Center of The Rockies in Loveland.

He was born February 23, 1958 in Fort Morgan to Arthur & Arlene Gammel. He was raised in Fort Morgan and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1976. He married Debbie (Pratt) Mese on September 20, 2001 in Fort Collins. Dave and Debbie lived in Gillette, WY for about three years before returning to Fort Collins where they lived until moving to Evans and then to Greeley.

Dave worked in the oilfield industry throughout Weld County all of his career. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and arrowhead hunting. He also enjoyed collecting knives.

Dave is survived by his wife, Debbie Gammel of Greeley; his two children, Chasity Zwetzig and her husband, Jon of Aledo, TX, and Dustin Gammel of Morristown, TN; his brother, Dan Gammel of Fort Morgan; and two sisters, Janis Albert of Aurora and Joyce Gammel of Fort Morgan; two stepchildren, Brett Orton and his wife, Katrina of Pueblo, and Tenneya Roth of Greeley. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Briana and Derek Gammel and Skylar Zwetzig; five step grandchildren, Kyria and Markos Orton and Jade, Ezra, and Isabella Roth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his dog, Walter.

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 8th at 2:00 PM at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. Services will conclude at the chapel.
