David S. "Odie" Oldemeyer, 73, lifelong resident of Morgan County, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 22, 2024 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR.

He was born on January 14, 1951, in Denver, CO to parents Ben and Jennie Oldemeyer.  The family relocated to Brush and Dave completed his school, graduating from Brush High School in 1969.  Following high school, he was drafted to the US Army.   He spent time overseas in Europe and especially loved to tell the stories of the time he spent in Germany.  He worked for almost his entire career at Western Sugar in Fort Morgan as the purchasing manager.

He married Becky in April 1997 and they lived in Fort Morgan Colorado.

He is survived by his loving family- wife Becky, daughter Amy Thamm (Tyson, Audrey & Alison), son Ben Oldemeyer (Mila), as well as Jamie Spafford (Justin, Courtney, Emma & JJ), Aaron Guerrero (Eric, Austin, Ali & River) and Marty Senseney (Keaton & Kimber) He is also survived by his sister Maryln Hanson and his nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Stan Reed, Gerald Reed, and Maurine "Ruth" Hardy.

Dave was a great fixer-his kids will always remember working on first cars, building go-carts and working in the shop together.  He could build or fix anything- from a homemade camping trailer to an airplane.  He earned his private pilot's license and volunteered for the Colorado Civil Air Patrol while building his own airplane.   He loved to travel- camping, fishing and spending time outdoors.  He loved his grandchildren and special rescued pets.

A memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will be held Friday, August 16th at 10:00 AM at the Brush Memorial Cemetery Interment Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, AR, or to the Fort Morgan, CO Humane Society.
