David Romero, 72, of Fort Morgan, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at East Morgan County Hospital in Brush.

Dave was born in Las Vegas, NM on October 2, 1949 to Federico & Mary (Lujan) Romero. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School and then attended college, receiving his associate's degree in business.

Dave married Olivia Cordova on May 10, 1969 in Fort Morgan, while enroute to Army AIT training before serving in Vietnam. Dave accomplished the rank of E5 before his honorable discharge with the 538th Engineers.

Dave "Lucky" Romero ran a successful Bail Bonds service and G&R Roofing for several years before his retirement. His greatest joy was spending time with his sons and 23 grandchildren. His life was spent generously giving to anyone that surrounded him. Family and friends will always remember him bringing joy to others and creating light with humor in times of darkness.

He is survived by his wife, Libby Romero of Fort Morgan; seven children, Fred Romero, David (Stacy) Romero, Michael (Ashley) Romero, Nathaniel (Alisa) Romero, Joe (Darcy) Padilla, Lorenzo Sepulveda, and Eric (Melissa) Sepulveda; his siblings, Mary "Mable" Torrez, Andy Romero, Rick Romero, and Richard Brooks.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Federico & Mary Romero.

Visitation will be at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan on Monday, October 18 ^th from 4 – 7 PM, with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 20 ^th at 10:30 AM at Saint Helena's Catholic Church in Fort Morgan. Inurnment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
