Obituary

David Charles Waselkow, 77, longtime area resident, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at his home in Fort Morgan.

He was born July 3, 1939, in Boulder, Colorado to Charles and Mary (Jovanovich) Waselkow.

A Veteran, David honorably served in the U. S. Army from 1962 to 1964, stationed in Japan. He was a proud member of the ASA Chitose Association Inc.

David married Linda Sue Oldland on May 6, 1967 in Denver, Colorado. They moved to this area in 1996 from Golden when he was transferred to the Pawnee Power Plant near Brush.

Prior to his retirement in 2003, he was a devoted and loyal employee of Public Service Company of Colorado (later Xcel Energy). His career spanned 42 years, mostly in the power plants and later in the training department.

David's devotion to his career was only exceeded by his devotion to his family. Survivors include his wife Linda of Fort Morgan; sons James (Jessica) of Littleton, and their children Evan and Delilah; and David Waselkow, Jr., of Peoria, Illinois, and his children Molly and Ella.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held on Saturday morning, April 8, 2017, at 11 o'clock at Crown Hill Cemetery at 7777 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, following a private graveside burial.
