Obituary

Dean Campbell, 72, life resident of Morgan County, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, following a short illness. He was born July 30, 1945, in Brush, to Darrell & Kathleen Campbell.

Dean worked at Western Sugar, and its predecessor owners from 1963 until retiring in 2017. On May 25, 1985 Dean married Rosanne Strauch

Dean was an avid bow/arrow hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed working with the Morgan County 4-H bow & shooting programs. He also enjoyed photography and working in his garden. He was the past-president of the Local Teamsters & Sugar Workers, and was the contract negotiator for the Union for 13 years. He went to Washington, DC twice to lobby the sugar bill in the 1990's. Dean also was past- president of the Munn's Addition Lateral Ditch.

Survivors include his wife, Rosanne; his 2 "fur babies" Britches and Maggie; his sister, Beth Mummert of Delta, CO; and 2 brothers, Walt Campbell of Brush and Kim Campbell of Sterling, CO.   He is preceded in death by his brother, Allen and his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the 4-H Building at the Fairgrounds in Brush. The Heer Mortuary is entrusted with the service arrangements. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Morgan County 4-H Foundation for the bow/arrow & shooting programs.
