With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Deanna Wiegand on September 11, 2021 at the UC Health of Colorado Springs in Colorado due to kidney failure. She was the beloved daughter of Virgil Nelson and Elaine Schesselman Nelson, sister of Sharon Nelson Guszak of Sterling, Colorado, adored wife of Leonard Wiegand of Fort Morgan, Colorado, incredible mother of Terri Ann Stott of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Serena Wiegand Deal of Brush, Colorado, James and Cheryl Wiegand of Loveland, Colorado, Tina Wiegand LeBlanc of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Joseph Wiegand of Loveland, Colorado, and cherished grandmother of Alicia Deal Blake, Nichole Higel, Sadie LeBlanc, Salena Stott, Travis Graham, Amanda LeBlanc, and great-grandchildren Lyssa Blake and Kaelynn Blake.

Preceded in death, her parents Virgil and Elaine Nelson and her first husband Donald Stott.

Deanna Carol Wiegand was born on August 17th, 1950 to Virgil Nelson and Elaine Schesselman Nelson at Taylor Hospital in Sidney, Nebraska. Deanna married Donald Stott January 9th, 1968 in Sterling, Colorado. One child was born from this union, her name was Terri Ann Stott. Later, Deanna married Leonard Wiegand on February 2nd, 1972 in Mountain Home, Idaho. Four children were born from this union; Serena, James, Tina, and Joseph Wiegand. Deanna worked at the Eben Ezer Lutheran care center in Brush, Colorado for 30+ years. She was a member of the Lutheran and Mormon church. Finally, she was a hard-working person, loving mother, and a woman who enjoyed spending her time in the garden attending to her flowers.

The funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 336 Cherry St., Fort Morgan, Colorado, 80701, on September 17th, 2021 at 2 pm.
