Obituary

Debra J. Adams, 66, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, following a lengthy illness.  She was born June 24, 1951, in Denver to Edwin & Margaret Cochell.

Debra moved to the Fort Morgan community in 1982 where she was a stay at home mom until returning to school to obtain her accounting degree. She obtained her associate degree in accounting in 1985 from Morgan Community College and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Northern Colorado in 1987.  She became a Certified Public Accountant and worked for Anderson & Lee for 25 years until the office closed. Later she opened her own accounting practice in downtown Fort Morgan.

Deb loved animals and had a lifelong love for her rescue dogs and cats. She also loved helping others. There were many "adopted" family members who held a special place in her heart.

Deb was an avid Denver Bronco fan, and had many superstitions about her game day routine that could not be broken.  She also enjoyed gambling both in Central City and on her iPad.  Her favorite past time was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John; 2 daughters, Lori (Paul) Dittler of Richmond, TX and Rona Hadley (Kelly Esty) of Fort Morgan; 3 grandchildren, Bryce, Morgan, and Colby; and 1 brother, Gary (Terry) Cochell of Quincy, IL and their 3 sons and 1 daughter.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan at 11:00 AM .  The service will conclude at the Mortuary.  Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Morgan County Humane Society c/o the Heer Mortuary.
