Della Mae Smither, 94, formerly of Ft. Collins, died, Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Eben-Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, Colorado. She was born April 7, 1917 in Summit, Kentucky to Josh and Ella (Watson) Bird. She married Charles T. Smither on July 17, 1936 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Della was a member of the Church of God in Loveland. She enjoyed camping, tending to her flowers, telling stories, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Helen Smither of Ft. Collins, her sister, Mildred Calhoun of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, two grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.. Della was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Helen Joyce, one son, Terry Oral Smither, and four sisters. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 20, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Ft. Collins. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The Heer & Dahl Mortuary in Brush is in charge of the arrangements.
