Delmar C. Zwirn, 77, passed away early Thursday, March 08, 2012, at his son's home in Bridgeport, NE. He was born September 16, 1934, in Yuma County, CO, to William A. & Hazel M. Zwirn. Delmar graduated from Eckley High School in 1954. He worked as a mechanic in the automotive and agriculture field. Delmar has lived in Morgan County since 1965. He had worked for several years for the Ben Gay Feedlot. On November 17, 1984, he married Verna Reed. Delmar was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing a large vegetable garden. Survivors include his children, Debra Davis of Wiggins, Dalene Zwirn of Amarillo, TX, David Zwirn of Bridgeport, NE, and Rod Zwirn of Iliff, CO; 4 brothers, Delbert of Sutherland, OR,, Charlie of Sterling, CO, Chester of Vernon, CO, and Calvin of Wray, CO; 2 sisters, Mary Berghuis of Eckley, and Marietta Lundgren of Haxtun, CO; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, 1 daughter, Roberta, 1 brother, William; and his parents. Funeral services will be Monday, March 12, at 10:30 AM at the Heer & Dahl Mortuary Chapel in Brush. Interment will follow in the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Heer & Dahl Chapel on Sunday from 3 – 5 PM.
