With great sadness, the family of Delora M. Ticnor announces her passing, a life well lived, with her kids at her bedside. She entered into eternal life on September 5, 2024 at the age of 90, the result of declining dementia.

Delora was born in Texas to Adolph and Mary (Prescher) Marwitz. She attended school in Woodrow, CO (1 year), Brush, CO (2 years), and graduated from Fort Morgan, CO in 1952, following graduation she was employed by the abstract office in Fort Morgan.

Delora married David Ticnor June 1953 in Brush, CO. Through their deep mutual love, David and Delora were blessed with 4 children; Sue (Tom) Meals, Kay (Scott) Carter, Terry and Wayne Ticnor, 5 grandchildren, Eric (Marie) Meals, Mindy (Alex) Knuth, Byron Meals, Cory (Emmy) Ticnor, Kortney Brown; 9 great grandchildren, Tommy, Sonja, Zola Gallegos, Daphine Knuth, Cooper, Crew, Marian Ticnor, Collins, and Kenadie Brown.

Delora and David traveled extensively, all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, including a 50-mile canoe trip through the Boundry Waters of MN. As a widow she took her grandchildren on all major trips; Oklahoma City, California, Grand Canyon, Texas, then back to California for the Rose Bowl Parage. In 2000 she accompanied her sister, brother, and sister-in-law to Czechoslovakia, Austria, Italy, and found the town of Marwitz while touring Germany.

She had been involved with Girl Scouts for 30 years, receiving the highest Girl Scout award for adults, the "Thanks Badge", Colorado Rural Letter Carriers (8 years), served State Secretary Treasurer of VFW Auxiliary. In 1980 she was awarded Volunteer of the year for Morgan County. She stayed busy as a seamstress and driving people to the airport and doctor's appointments until health restricted her. She was an avid fan of the Broncos and Rockies.

David and Delora are charter members of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. She served in all capacities for the church, including treasurer for the district Women's Organization. Delora was one of the founders of HOSPES of Morgan County in 1980. It was the original HOSPES consisting of all volunteers and no cost to the patient.

She was preceded in life-ever-after by her parents; husband, David; two sons-in law, Tom and Scott; three brothers; one sister; five brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-laws, and five nephews.

She was loved and survived by her four kids, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren, whom Delora dearly loved in turn, and who remained close throughout their lives. Each of them share memories of mischief and happy times with grandma. She is also survived by one brother, Melvin Marwitz; one sister, Mary Ann Taylor; one brother-in-law, Harry Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1100 W. Platte Ave., Fort Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. All are invited to return to the church where a late lunch will be hosted by the Women of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer following the graveside.
